I have a Pine64 PinePhone, with a Ubuntu Touch OS.
The Modem is registered with the OS (mmcli -L = Modem0).
But, the SIM (from EE) is not registering with the modem (mmcli -i 0 == Error, no SIM available).
Using an AT command (AT+CIMI), I can not get a IMSI number?
The Micro SIM is in the slot, and fits well!
I cannot receive an text from EE to finish registration to the carrier?
The are a number of carriers within the USA whose Micro SIM works OK on this device, including T-Mobile?
T-Mobile is part of EE?
Does EE have a Micro SIM compatible with this device?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Re:Modem/SIM not talking?
And the answer is? Fedora 34 Rawhide! Manjaro does not load the drivers?
Insert Micro SIM.
Check mmcli -L for modem.
All done! Don't call me, I'll call you!
;-}
For all those that took the time to answer, many thanks!

@RDM007 T-Mobile US has nothing to do with EE and the now dysfunctional network T mobile UK
the device supports band 1, 3 and 7 so it should work.
if your having issues with this device then you need to contact the seller or manufacturer of the device to see if they can help you more.

Where are you?
Is the device locked to some network? Where'd you buy it from?
Is your EE DIM on contract or PAYG?

I'm in the UK, and the phone has a Quectel EG25-G modem with a full range of LTE.channels.
It has:
GSM: B2 B3 B5 B8 ( GSM 1800).
UMTS B1 B2 B4 B5 B8 B19
Full spec/PDF available (email me?).
The modem is registering with Modem-Manger at Modem0.
But, the cannot find a SIM (I have a EE PSYG Micro SIM)..
I have scanned for GSM 1800, and there appears to be a signal.
Until EE get the IMSI number, I can't register the phone?
Any help would be appreciated!

I am in the UK.
There is nothing wrong with the device, the modem is working fine!
It accepts all AT commands, but does not return the IMSI number from the SIM?
AT+CSIMI? or AT+QSIMSTAT?
Modem spec available, email me?
PAYG, or will be, when I can get a IMSI number registered with EE.
Is there an issue with this?

@RDM007 Where did you get the device from ? And is the EE SIM card activated? Can you try the sim in a different device?

Pine64 is a USA company, it has an Quad ARM core that will run a baseline Linux OS.
They work fine in German, USA, etc,... on GSM 1800 and, off course, LTE?
"Activate" ? That's what I'm trying to do?
I have two SIM's from EE, and I'm trying to register the IMSI number from one, by adding a device (a phone number) to an EE account, but the number is not being accepted?
So, if EE has to activate the SIM, before it will pass it's IMSI number (register with the modem), then how do I get EE to activate the SIM?.

In my EE account page; To register a device; I have entered the phone number of the EE PAYG SIM, but it say's it will send me a code? Where?
To the phone, when the SIM is not registering with the Modem?
I cannot receive the code unless you "Activate" the SIM first?
Or send it via email?

Does any one have a support email address (Please, no telephone numbers!)?

Are you able to put your SIM into a UK phone to receive the message, @RDM007.
All of our contact information is on the get in touch help page. We don't have a customer service email address.
