I have a Pine64 PinePhone, with a Ubuntu Touch OS.
The Modem is registered with the OS (mmcli -L = Modem0).
But, the SIM (from EE) is not registering with the modem (mmcli -i 0 == Error, no SIM available).
Using an AT command (AT+CIMI), I can not get a IMSI number?
The Micro SIM is in the slot, and fits well!
I cannot receive an text from EE to finish registration to the carrier?
The are a number of carriers within the USA whose Micro SIM works OK on this device, including T-Mobile?
T-Mobile is part of EE?
Does EE have a Micro SIM compatible with this device?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

I was sent two EE SIM's, PAYG.
Both failed, with No SIM errors, on a Nokia 3310 and an Alcatel, on startup.
That explains that?!
Can I have a SIM that works, PAYG?
What's an eSIM, would using one help?

We don't supply pay as you go eSIMs, @RDM007
I'd recommend speaking to our Mobile Care team to see if they can find out why the SIM card isn't active and look to send you a replacement, if needed.
You can find our contact information on the get in touch help page.

I don't have a phone, at all, until I get a working SIM?
How do I contact them?

If they don't have an email address, how can I contact them?
I do not have an active phone!
Can you ask them to check if they have activated the two SIM's they sent?
Both SIM's are not active, according to the three devices I have tried?!

Try calling the Freephone no. in my sig over Skype. It should be free.

I have tried +44 800 079 8586 into my Skype search, and it has no idea what or who it is?
EE Customer Support would need their own Skype ID?

It's EE CS.
No, it'll be received as an ordinary phone call.

I have no idea what that is, but it's not Skype?
At least not the Skype I have in Hotmail, it being free.
And, you need a Skype ID just for the chat?!
What you have there looks like a SIP client for an internally routed network?

It's the Skype app on my PC. I'll give you the full window to put it in context:

Thanks for that, but I'm not installing a standalone application just to ring them?
I have Skype inside my hotmail account, but it does not accept telephone numbers, they need to be registered first.
Besides, what company would send out un-activated or a broken SIM to a new customer?
And, they don't ever have a Customer Support email address?
