Pay as you go sim

I recently got a new contract for my daughter for Christmas. I was given a pay as you go sim card with £5 credit with this phone.

I put the sim card in the phone today, but the phone says no network.

The top up card that came with the phone expires in March, but there are no instructions on how to use it.

Shops are closed due to is being in tier 4, on hold to EE for over 30 mins, cant find a contact email on the app, don't know what to do. She needs the phone for school work, any advise?

Hi @Blingbabe

Thanks for coming to the community.

Do you have two SIM cards one pay as you go and a contract SIM that come with the phone?

Does the pay as you go SIM have signal in any other phone?

Leanne.

@Blingbabe   If the device is on contract why are you putting a PAYG sim in the device?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

It came with the phone. (not that it matters, or solves the problem of the sim not having credit or a network)

Hi @Blingbabe

My apologies if I've missed something, but if a PAYG SIM came with this new phone, then  by definition it can't be a contract.

The advice on resolving this can differ depending whether the device is using pay-monthly or PAYG, unfortunately.

Hi it is an unlocked dual sim phone. I didn't realise there was a difference as previously once my contract ended, I simply put in a pay as you go sim and continued to use my phone as normal.

Thank you for your response.

Yes the pay as you go works in another phone. I guess it is the phone that is the problem rather than the sim.

I guess I'll just have to use pay as you go in another phone.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Blingbabe.

You could try factory resetting the phone to see if this helps and gets the SIM working in this phone.
