Yes, you would need to call CS to register the mobile no. as you need it registered in order to buy packs cuz it is not capable of sending texts, the easy method of buying them. Still hopefully it would only need to be done the 1st time as they are auto recurring when topped-up, I would hope that EE has some procedure for registering SIMs in such a "black box" non-SMS device.

The only PAYG SIM for £15 giving 8GB that I'm aware of is a phone SIM pack recurring every 30 days. I know of no data SIM of that ilk other than a 90 day 6GB SIM for £17. Unless it's some sort of special for such devices? Can you post the wording on the packaging?

To start with you'll need to add its mobile no. to the MyEE a/c you used to login to here. Did he tell you its mobile no. or give you the packaging the SIM came with?

Then I think it might need to send a verification text to it. Can you put it in a mobile temporarily?

It's more likely it needs topping up every month rather than annually if it's the usual PAYG phone SIM. Did he say how much you need to top-up by?

Hi

Thanks for the info, I can’t put the sim into a phone as it’s installed into the house alarm.

I can see that registering the sim is necessary by receiving a conformation code. This is my main sticking point as I do have the number.

i’ll have to contact them by phone and hope it can be registered that way.

I’m hoping that the 8gb would last a good while as the package says £15.

I don’t want to be topping up my alarm every month!!!

Thanks for your help
