Why are EE talking so long with the Android 11 update for the OnePlus 7 pro 5g?
The device has had the update on other networks and EE have had more than enough time with the update to fix any bugs and roll it out.
The Android 12 beta is starting soon and we'll be left out again with no support for OnePlus as they don't stock them anymore. Poor show EE, maybe it's time for a new network after 20 years.

@Neil671 EE don’t create the software that goes on your device that’s down to the manufacturer. It’s also down to the manufacturer to provide a stable OS that EE are happy with before EE tell Oneplus to push it out.

I know EE doesn't create the software, and I also know that OnePlus has provided a stable update for the 5g version of the phone on other networks and are currently rolling out further updates for the device. EE are well behind other networks with this.

@Neil671 Doesn’t matter what other networks have they are not using EEs network. If Oneplus have an issue they need to sort that issue before EE will give the nod for it to be pushed out.

Am I missing something? You can download OOS yourself from their website or on xda-developers. I have the 8T and get pushed updates from OnePlus themselves.
There's also an app on the Play Store called Oxygen Updater which will find and download any appropriate update for your OP phone which might interest you.
You're not missing much with android 11 by the way. I'd go back to 10 if I could.

Whilst OnePlus make the version update (which they have) each network has to run tests to make sure it is stable on their network with respect to sim technicalities and different modem bands etc.
So right now EE is holding back on rolling out the updates. Seems they gave up on the 5G version of this phone which is disappointing...

@simpson0108 You are correct right up to the point that EE only have to pass it. If they don’t pass it it’s down to one plus to fix it for EE to then pass it again and so on until it’s ok. Once passed it’s down to one plus to push it out.
The 5G version of this device was only available on EE. So what other networks in the UK have this device on 5G as it was only compatible with EEs 5G.
