My sim will give me 30GB for £20. But buying a new sim will give 60GB

For a £20 pack, EE have doubled the data from 30 GB to 60 GB if you buy a new sim.

If you want to increase your data on your own sim it will still only give you 30 GB for £20.

So to take advantage of the the offer you must buy a new, empty, sim with a new phone number.

That's nuts?

@skajd : That's right! You can then ask CS to move your old no. to the new SIM.

But what about all of the saved messages and information and contacts?

They'll usually be stored on the device, not the SIM. SIMs have limited storage.

That is a feeble excuse.

Why doesn't a valued, long term customer get to have the same deal? Why is he/she made to pay more?

It is as though the customer of EE is being punished for being an already EE customer.

It does not make sense and I am very unhappy about it. I will be looking elsewhere to be valued.

Years I have been with EE and now they do this to me.

3 has offered me unlimited everything on a sim only, one month contract. Cancel any time. It's a Black Friday special.

3 here I come.

Hi @skajd ,

What is materially different between the SIM you have and the SIM you can buy?

Is your current SIM a non-EE legacy SIM, or that a different price plan will apply to the new SIM?

Is there a short-term promotion on the new SIM to entice new customers so that you do not require enticing to become a customer?

Contract SIM: Plan | Data | Usage | Check Status | Abroad | Chat | SMS | APN | PM
Wired: Check Speed | Test Socket | Faults | fast.com | speedtest.net

I forgot to say how much ... £18 per month until cancelled.

They should be enticing me not to leave them.

Your arguements are worthless. Goodbye.

@mikeliuk : Not physically diff, but PAYG Phone SIMs bought from the EE online shop are often primed with exclusive plans offering extra data over & above the standard Packs for a limited period, usually 3 months. EE make these exclusive offers at seasonal times. Now it'll be the "Xmas Double Data Offer".

Whereas an existing SIM that you already have will just have whatever it had when you bought it, a standard Pack. EE does not make these exclusive offers to existing SIMs, only for newly bought SIMs from the EE online shop. I doubt they even have any mechanism to enhance existing SIMs in such a way.
