How can you trace the owner of a found (locked) phone?

I run a restaurant in The Lakes.  We've thousands of visitors passing through every week.  Often we get mobile phones left behind - but because they are locked we can't access the phone to call someone and try and ascertain or contact the owners.  Is there someway of accessing a 'lost/found notification' message to the owners back up email/mobile accounts to say we have it secured for them.  If not - this would be a great feature to develop....

@spl23  most mobile phones do have this feature built in the it’s down to the owner of the device to set this up.         When set up the owner can activate this when they I realise that the phone is lost.  It’s not a network feature.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Indeed @Chris_B - it's a bit like putting ICE contact names & numbers on your lock-screen that I've done for many years.

The facilities are already there, but it's upto device owners to actually use them..
