HUAWEI Upgrade?

I currently have the P30 Pro and love the phone it's 2 years old and like new, I'm due to upgrade as of this week and would normally just upgrade to the next Huawei which is the P40 Pro but I'm unsure if that is wise with the Google issue.  Has anyone upgrade to P40 and either lived without Google or successfully installed Google services???   Or what other phone could I upgrade to which will match the camera and spec of the Huawei.  I dont want to go back to Apple!!!

I tested the P40 a few weeks back, not the Lite or the Pro just the P40, and I have to admit I was impressed, great phone, compact, excellent Camera, good specs, Dual SIM, good 4 and 5G Reception, Memory Card and a nice little 6.1 Amoled Screen, but as you say no Google.

Anyone that says you can Side Load and Install Full Google Services on the Phone is miss leading you.

You can, and it's very easy to do, Install various Dual Space Apps on the Phone, these Apps in question come with PlayStore and a form of GMS installed within the App, so that gets you PlayStore Installed on the Phone and gets around things like YouTube etc which all seem to work as normal including Casting to TV etc.

Your PlayStore Apps will get Installed within the Dual Space Folder but you can just Add a Shortcut Icon to your Home screen for each chosen App.

Having said all this, there are a load of Apps on the PlayStore that will just not work on the phone so your also be relying on the Huawei Store for a lot of these, if available.

The bottom line is these non GMS Huawei phones are not Google Certified Phones and never will be unless the US decision is reversed, so without GMS Certification your always going to struggle with secure Apps like Banking etc unless there offered from the Huawei Store.

It's also important to understand Installing Third Party APPs or APKs outside of PlayStore or the Huawei Store may pose a security issue on the Phone.

Edit: just to add, Huawei seem to be committed to moving over from Android to there own Harmony OS this year and this will include upgrading current Phones that are not GMS enabled like the P40 and P50 series. Huaweis Harmony OS can still use and run Android Apps and again these will be available from the Huawei Store, point being. Huawei want to sell there Phones World Wide and I just can't see them making a Corporate move like this unless they've got some strong plans to upgrade and improve the choice of Apps on their Own Store.
