Aha! My password creator was set to 20 characters. The max is 16 characters.
I redid my password and it worked 🙂

My previous password was 16 digits in length

EE's example password works fine. I am able to log in a second time after using this password

If I use my password - ##### - it does not work.

Try just using an alphanumeric pwd & then add special chars to it & see which works.
