I bought a EE 4G Wifi Mini 2 on ebay. Unfortunately the back cover has been placed on the wrong device as the SSID does not correspond between the device and the sticker on the back cover.
By using a USB cable I can access 192.168.1.1 via my computer but the password is not "admin" like I've seen referred to many times so I cannot login. I have factory reset the device. The sticker on the back cover of the device suggests the admin password is randomly generated comprisinmg of 8 characters, with those being a mixture of letters/numbers.
It seems to throw away a perfectly good device but that may be my only option if I can't find a way to log in to it. The seller has told me to keep it and has refunded me so that's been sorted.
Any thoughts how to get this working?

The admin pwd is usually either "admin" or found under the battery cover. Login to your MBB router at http://192.168.1.1 with username/pwd as "admin"/"admin" or with the password found under the battery cover. Then on the WiFi Settings tab you should be able to see your WiFi SSID & password in clear & change them if you like.

@XRaySpeX With respect, did you even read my post?

Hi @AAAAAB.
Welcome to the community.
If you've factory reset the router and you're still unable to access the admin page, there would be no other way to access it.
Are you pressing and holding the reset button for around 15 seconds?

@Jon_K Not quite the response I was hoping for but much more helpful, thank you. Yes the button was held down for longer than 15 seconds and the device seems to restart.
I can get access to 192.168.1.1 when connected via usb but the generic admin password does not work.
The device model is 4Gee WIFI MINI and the type is EE70-2AE8GB3
If I have the MAC/IMEI number can EE support provide me with the original wifi password/admin password? Otherwise it's going in the bin which seems a waste.

Sorry @AAAAAB, if the password isn't the word 'admin' then I'm not sure what it will be.
EE won't hold a copy of the device password.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Let's see an image of the sticker on the back cover and we might then know what you are talking about.

@Jon_K Thanks for confirming that, it was worth a try. Appreciate you trying to help me.
