Dual-SIM Upgrade?

I use dual SIM on a Samsung- my contract personal number is the main number  and the second is a VF SIM I use for occasional work calls and as backup when there's no EE coverage.

 

EE have been nagging me to upgrade and I'm quite ready to do this, but as far as I can tell their unlocking policies mean I'll lose this dual SIM functionality for 6 months.  

 

Does anyone know how to get around this problem or have an alternative solution to lugging around a second handset, please?

@urzz1871  Come December end all devices will be unlocked a standard when you get them from any network.   There is no way around the 6 month rule, your other option is to purchase a device outright that’s already unlocked
