Data usage first day with EE

Just signed up today for 100GB sim only and enabled the new mini wifi on our laptop. Also, connected our mobile (which is not EE) to the wifi. On both devices we spent possibly a couple of hours looking at the weather, newspapers and sent a few messages on whatsapp. I then registered online and was surprised to see the data usage showed 99.5GB remaining from 101GB. This amount of use could not possibly have used 1.5GB so I'm baffled. Will now have to closely monitor EE's data usage facility on my account. I checked Windows hadn't downloaded an update or anything else which may explain this. I thought we noly got 100GB, not 101GB showing on my account, so maybe this is wrong and we've only used 0.5GB - if this is the case why does it say 101GB as a starting point for today? Anyone any ideas please?

Hi @PeJ,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

In My EE, does the extra 1GB show as a separate add-on?

1.5GB isn't an unusually large amount of data to use over a few hours, especially with more than one device connected. News sites will often pre-load video content which will contribute to your data usage.

In your phone settings you should be able to see a breakdown of how much data was used by individual apps.

Thanks

James
