Apple Watch upgrade

Hi everyone

ive never posted a topic before but feel I’m getting nowhere.

I got myself a Apple Watch series 4 that came with a number to my account I think it’s great and very handy. But recently it was my 40th birthday and my friend got me a series 6 watch I gave my series 4 to my mum. But I have found that the new watch comes up with a red phone signal so I’m guessing that there is no signal to the phone. But the problem is I need the phone signal as I need it just as I may need to due to my health and may need it for emergency so I need to make a call and I don’t have my phone by hand.

what do I need to do to add my old contact to the new watch.

hope all this makes sense. Keep safe

For the Apple Watch to connect to the mobile network, independently when your iPhone is out of range, you will need a cellular add on plan for the watch.

These cost £7 per month.

For the cellular add on to work, your iPhone will need to be on either a pay monthly plan or a sim only plan.

You can usually set up the cellular add on, from off of the Watch app on your iPhone.

Go into the Watch app and then:

On the screen that appears, touch "Mobile Data".

On the next screen, touch "Set Up Mobile Data" and it should guide you through the rest of the process.

It can take up to 24 hours for your data plan to activate and show on your device. If after that time its not up and running, call customer service and get them to look into it.

When I had the cellular add on plan on my Apple Watch, and I initially had problems getting the plan up and running, I was given the below number. From memory it gets you through to the dedicated Apple Watch team.

Thankyou for letting me know. I shall have a look in the morning and hopefully get something sorted. Thanks again. 😀
