4g sim in 2g 3g hanset

Hello

Can a 4g sim be used in a 2g or 3g handset as my Relative does NOT want Internet just txt and calls..

 Can anyone recommend a Handset if this is possible or can I just deactivate Internet on there Handset,thank you very much

Just be aware that 3G will be phased out

You may want to invest in a new feature phone that supports 4G in case

 

that report states you have 2 years though, so no rush

Welcome to the community

 

There's no such thing as a 4G SIM, there's just an EE SIM - that is capable of working on any of EE's radio technologies. Any EE SIM will work in any compatible phone, and if that phone is only a 2G/3G one, then that's the service you will get.

 

I see @Kirigaya_Kazuto has already mentioned the impending 3G switch-off, so in-time any non-4G phone will only receive 2G service.

Just turn off Mobile/Packet Data on their handset.
