I was offered a free upgrade where I didn’t have to pay the remaining last few months of my contract, so on the 13th of September I pre ordered the iPhone 16 plus and on the 16th September I sent my phone off for trade in to put towards it. I sent it on the 16th because I was offered a good price for my 14 pro max, however I had one email to say my new upgrade was confirmed, but heard nothing back.
Today I went in to EE store as I have no phone and I only live 2 seconds away from a store to see what’s going on and my order hadn’t even been processed, I spent an hour on the phone in store to a member of staff who was helpful although I don’t know their name. The deal I originally wanted I couldn’t have because I didn’t have my phone for them to send a pin to, I had to pay an upfront cost even though it was free on the app to upgrade on the 13th and now I’m worried it’s going to take even longer to be delivered and I have no phone, I have received confirmation and order number but it’s just annoying how I have to pay more than original deal all because I never had my phone.
Is the wait people are saying for the pro max the same for the 16 plus?

Welcome to the community,
You should have kept the old phone until you received the new one, as customer service do not expect you to be without a phone.
Also, as this is a new phone and was on pre-order, you should have expected a delay, and no we have no idea whether it is the same as with the 16 plus, as it is delivered on a first come first serve and depends how many each network receive also.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I know that now, I’m not clued up when it comes to technology but we live and we learn I suppose

@dmt95 , you are welcome, sorry that you did not know this, hope you get your new phone soon, but have read in another thread, that even Apple do are saying they do not have stock and it will be 15th October.
