Finally got my pro after being messed around and downgrading from a max. I thought it was worth mentioning (if it's not been mentioned already) that there is another 'gate'. It's in relation to the area of the screen near the new camera button, some say all edges. It appears to lock the screen and make it unresponsive. When it happens to me, only a restart fixes it. Others have varying issues, some claim not to be able to replicate. It appears to be something that can be fixed with a software update but, we won't know until Apple attempt to resolve it. There is a Reddit post about it titled "Phone 16 Touch Unresponsive Issue" if you want to check it out for more context.
So for those waiting, you're actually better off. Also for those trading in a phone, the clock isn't ticking yet. I hope it's fixed by the time I have to face the uncomfortable decision to return my own or not.
