Hello Again.
After last years MONUMENTAL thread became the second most popular thread on the entire website, (Over 400k views & 6k replies) I thought I'd make another for this years iPhone release.
Just like last year let's use this thread purely for Tracking Preorders and any related discussion around it.
You can find a general discussion thread here: https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Orders/Iphone-16-pro-16-pro-max-pre-order-thread-that-time-of-the-year...
Last year was a mess for EE, Let's hope things are different this year.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Yep, so bizarre.
every year, same sht for real.
They have tons of regular 16’s each colour. Loads of PRO’s. But 0 PM. Same problem over and over.

There is always significantly higher demand for the PM to the Pro. Was the same last year and multiple people downsized so they could get their handset.
The question I suppose really should be why year after year there are constant issues with supplies of the PM. EE have all the data on the number of customers who are coming to the end of their 24 month terms and the number of customers who are on an anytime upgrade tariff. This is basic forecasting IMO

Strange, especially as it was all over the place that the sales of PM was down and more people was choosing the normal pro

There's higher demand and then theres something strange about the fact they can offer you a pro for tomorrow or potentially a month's wait for Max.

Yep,
EE has around 21 million customers. Around 17 million are IPhone users. They have data on everything.
it also matters how much Apple allocate to EE said the agent. Because they normally request loads and normally Apple underdelivers. So it seems its both ways problem. But at least dont promise us launch day delivery..

I ordered an iphone 16 pro max as an upgrade plus a new contract iphone 16 pro on Friday 13 Sep.
two emails sent to me the same day.
Nothing since then.

It's really not strange at all. It's the same every single year. They always clear the backlog of everything but the top end model very quickly.

Also, the issue was that my order was confirmed by a supply chain guy rather than an actual agent.. which delayed mine by a day.
The agent couldn’t even do anything cuz it was a digital order. So i guess i should just call and order on the phone i guess. Seems to be the most reliable

Yes Apple and their allocations definitely are part of the issue but I don't believe that last Friday at 1pm EE didn't know what their initial allocation was going to be. They didn't start manufacturing them when the pre-orders started so Apple would know exactly how many would be ready to ship

Well I find it strange haha But this is my first time getting an iPhone for long time so maybe you all more use to it
