Hello Again.
After last years MONUMENTAL thread became the second most popular thread on the entire website, (Over 400k views & 6k replies) I thought I'd make another for this years iPhone release.

Just like last year let's use this thread purely for Tracking Preorders and any related discussion around it.

You can find a general discussion thread here: https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Orders/Iphone-16-pro-16-pro-max-pre-order-thread-that-time-of-the-year...

Last year was a mess for EE, Let's hope things are different this year.

Can you see any other reference to Anytime Upgrade on your contract other than the T&C's? Is it anywhere in your order confirmation email?

I can’t see any references to it beyond that page but my plan type (its name I.e. all rounder etc etc) is exactly the same as last year and it was a feature of that plan and comparing it to the document from last year, that was the same. Hope that helps

Here we go again! INDEED! Last year was a nightmare!

I refused to upgrade this year as they wouldn’t remove the waiver. But they called me back and informed me that they will waive it, so I went with a 1TB 16PM.

had my order all sorted and taken care off by 14:30.

initially was told launch day but just got told now more than 28 days 😂😂😂😂

so here we go… AGAIN for one last time.

RIP - anytime upgrade 🥹

I'm back again 😄. Compared to the complete upgrade disaster last year this year for me it was the smoothest and easiest upgrade I've done in many years. Last year EE screwed up my 15 PM online order so when I called to check it never existed and they had to put it through again which of course put me at the back of the line and I didn't get my 15 PM until the 10th Oct.

So according to the app I would have had to pay an early £300 upgrade fee which would probably be £0 in Oct if I waited. Called EE never intending to upgrade the phone yet because of that and wanted to check on my Ultra 2 in black order because these XKO numbers never process properly most of the time, and of course my online order never processed despite the EE email. Every time this happens, EE's online ordering systems are honestly pathetic. So the woman I spoke to put the order through again and this time I had a proper order number instead of the XKO ones.

She even asked me if I wanted to upgrade my 15 PM and said I had no early upgrade fee despite what the EE app said which was strange when I mentioned it which surprised me, when I called at 10am she tried to put it through but couldn't finalise the 16 PM order until 1pm which I expected. She said she would call me back at 1pm and she did, put my order through for a 16 PM 1TB in NT without any fuss at all, with no upfront fee, no early upgrade fee and I have a proper order number email for that as well. Fantastic person I spoke to and even did an upgrade for another family member at the same time for a 16 PM 1TB in NT and all should be here on launch day hopefully. Who says Friday the 13th is bad luck 😄

I've just got off the phone with an advisor from the Upgrades team, and he has adamantly stated that Anytime Upgrades no longer exist.

I told him that 3 different people before him (including a supervisor and the guy who upgraded me earlier today) have all told me they are available.

But this guy was saying otherwise. He asked his supervisor, he said the same.

I also said that people in the forums have received their contract T&C's which clearly outline across two pages that they have Anytime Upgrades for next year, and he literally said that EE wouldn't honour it and that those two pages are invalid by default. He's not sure how or why people are receiving contracts with T&C's for Anytime Upgrades.

I'm not sure what to believe here. But this 'he said - she said' is really irritating me. We've signed contracts under the pretense of having Anytime Upgrades but supervisor are now saying they wont honour them.

Those people are certainly wrong because I did two anytime upgrades earlier without any hassle at all, one over twelve months and one at 11.5 months (due to delivery delays last year) and at no cost to me. The person I spoke to said the plan I took out today would also be eligible for an early upgrade next year as well.

you get this every year with some advisor saying things like this but ultimately it’s in black and white so I know which one I trust.

In regards to the Anytime upgrade issues. If you still have anytime upgrade on new contract it means that you have been moved to the flex pay which allows you to upgrade anytime because the cost of the phone and allowances are separate.

in regards to the early upgrade fee for existing contracts that are just before the 12 month mark. It’s hit and miss as to getting it waivered. I have managed to get mine waiver but it took 45 minutes on the phone.
