Hey Guys,
Just wanted to create a separate thread from the Discussion thread to specifically discuss EE Preorder tracking.
I think it's always helpful/reassuring to keep each other updated on the latest when it comes to this time of year, especially with EE's not-so-great track record on keeping customers informed about their preorders.

Possibly, but as the number format is consistent and they use the same systems in-store that they use on the phones, I very much doubt it.

I'm sure Apple are producing the phones before sending them to see as EE don't make the phones 😁. So the battery would show that It was made before launch day.

As we have basically had no natural titanium models delivered in the last 2 weeks I’m hoping this week we’ll have some more insight into these. The delivery times didn’t change from 14 days to 28days until 11am on the Saturday so to those ordering just before that, we’re hoping to see some being delivered this week.

Is it possible for someone to check their tracking via this link https://ee.co.uk/s/apps/appsorder/customer/index.html#/listOfOrders
to see if they get any other information, on mine it says no order found where as the link in the email it shows.
thanks

This may also help some people with tracking issues. This is from the EE website and is for people who ordered through the app.

Like clockwork, I’ve received the “Good news. Your order is coming soon!” message on my Order Updates, 7 days after the “Your order is on track”.
Assuming we take nothing from it other than it is a weekly holding message.

I worked for Apple at corporate for 6 years and retail thereafter for 8! I can tell you categorically - the moment they moved away from outside queues to online pre-orders they realised just how much they could not only manipulate stock, but create demand and project profits into future fiscal quarters by stagnating stock and slow trickling it out to customers and partners. You only need to look back at the last 5 years of iPhone releases and then look up their quarterly results during the release and the quarter after. The numbers do not lie, nor do the profit results posted. All available publicly… This has become a proven method for iPhone release now and it wont change anytime soon. Ultimately if we want a guarantee of getting the new iPhone on launch day, one has to go via Apple and have quick fingers using Apple Pay to complete your transaction. From a business point of view it is genius. From a customer point of view very frustrating. But Apple knows people want the phone and they will wait for it no matter how long. So no reason to change it.

I wonder what (if anything) is the logic for why some people get these updates every 7 days in some cases by text/email and on their tracking and others (like me) have none of them
