iPad able to use day but won’t send SMS

Hi I have an iPad Pro on a monthly contract. I am able to use the data fine but when I try to send an SMS it shows a red exclamation and not delivered sign. My iMessages are sending fine.

Welcome to the community,

If you go to settings on your IPhone, then scroll down to Messages, check that Text Message Forwarding and that your IPad is included .

The Message Centre should also be set to +44 7958 879879

@RCHX1   If you don’t have an iPhone then you can not send texts Messages on an iPad.   The text feature is setup via iCloud and it actually sends via your iPhone when using the iPad.  as no iPad can send text messages.
