Upgraded to iPhone 17 prob old sim

I have upgraded to iPhone 17. Transferred old sim from iPhone XR and the tray and sim are now stuck in new phone. Secondly didn’t get any message saying my mobile number transferred over. Tried calling from different phone but can’t get through

Sim and tray did go in initially but won’t come back out as stuck

Thanks for coming to our community.

If you are using the old SIM in the new phone, there wouldn't be a text confirming a number transfer as the number is staying on the same SIM.

Is the new phone showing any signal? 

With it being stuck, it sounds like the SIM could be sitting incorrectly in the tray and not being picked up by the phone. Has it worked at all since you moved it over?

Thanks for your help

i transferred sim after all the apps etc had been put onto new phone. 
I will go to an EE shop to see if they can remove the SIM card and tray and he’s may have been dislodged hence not allowing incoming calls except on WhatsApp
