On the iPhone setup it asks if you want to transfer your number and automatically turns the physical SIM into an eSIM if you click continue. If you remove your SIM from the phone does your phone work?

Normally I would advise to skip this and keep the physical SIM but as it is the default option most people click it and it is often too late.

If your phone is working without a SIM in it happy days, but you now have an eSIM and it has deactivated your physical SIM.

The SIM that came with the phone would be blank/unregistered so would appear as all zeroes.

Did you have an eSIM previously?

Sometimes the phones can come with a replacement SIM but it is not always required if you have upgraded your plan as they would change your tariff on your existing SIM.

Did it come in an envelope or did it come in the normal SIM packaging and/or has a different number on the front of it?

@John_m2  Was this an upgrade or are you a new customer of EE.  ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

It was an existing contract so an upgrade but the original phone had a physical SIM that we didn’t move. When the phone transferred it seemed to have a SIM already and then when we put the new physical SIM in it said there was two accounts on the phone. Hope that makes sense?! Thanks for trying to help!

Thanks very much. So do I now take out the physical SIM do you think?

If the phone works without it if you try and use calls texts and data, then yeah you can without any worries.

Just double check it is all active without the physical SIM.
