Poor Speeds from Day 1 of new contract

Tony2Cakes

From day 1, poor speeds seem to be standard. Please take a look at this test; while not scientific, it raises concerns.

On the left, Google 9 Pixel Pro On the right: my iPhone 16 Pro Max

Both on Basic EE plans are connected to the same server. Why the massive speed difference with my Crapple. ??

No way to modify APN on iOS. Could anyone help with a solution?

Thank you all in advance.

Hi @Tony2Cakes

Different radio chips in the devices makes a huge difference..

Also I don't know about the iPhone but at 14% there maybe a power saver function active.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

@Northerner

Thank you — I’ll re-run the test with a full charge.

This iPhone 16 Plus has been a real disappointment!. I’m running SIM plans from both EE and Vodafone, and it still drops a lot of calls for a six-month-old phone that cost £1,000.

It’s also frustrating that iOS locks out APN settings, while my colleague’s Galaxy S7 allows full modification.

Are you in a position to compare which radio carriers/serving sites both phones are connected to? A difference in speed between two sites/carriers/bands is not massively unusual.

Apple needs the engineering menu, Android needs one of a handful of apps.
