My iPhone 7 had a message “needs restart following EE network setting being updated”. After restart I have no Internet on wifi. It’s on the hotel wifi. My wife’s phone works fine. I’ve reset network settings but no change.

WiFi is just a wireless connection between your phone and a router - there's no mobile network involvement.
I'd suggest deleting the affected network from your WiFi-settings and re-connect from scratch.

That seems to have worked. Forget network and reconnect from scratch. What a pain.
