Making calls from my Apple watch without my phone

Can anyone here help. I've had my Apple watch for months now and have never been able to make calls or send msgs from it without my phone being connected. It has a separate data plan to my phone and I was told when I purchased it that this would be possible. After endless calls to customer services I have finally given up expecting a call back. Has anyone else had this problem and did you find a solution. Thanks

@WillW78 , it sure why this has happened, as I have had three of them and all have worked  and all from EE with no problem. 

Have you spoken to Apple? They may have a solution to your problem, worth a try, look on their webpage, there is a phone number.

@WillW78   So assuming you set this up correctly within the watch app and you choose your tariff in the watch app when you set this up,   Is cellular data enabled on the watch ?  Does your watch show it’s connected to cellular data ?

Hi Chris, i've tried this and so have the guys in Store. Whenever I get to the stage of setting up cellular data the Pairing process just goes into idle mode until it times out and unpairs. I've finally had enough and raised a complaint today, i've been paying for this for 9 months and it's never been sorted so i'm assuming EE are in breach of contract. Hopefully they will start to look into this now.

Hi Chris, i'm finally fed up with it. This was just a 'hit & hope' that someone might have an answer for me. I've logged my complaint and will be cancelling the Apple watch contract as soon as I hear back. Thanks for your help here. ATB

I have the same problem. Been paying for this for a year and never been able to call on my watch. Let me know how you got on please? I think I may need to make a complaint too ? 

@angestew63   Does your watch show it’s connected to cellular data ?   Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the watch.  It should show a cellular connection.

Ended up having to pay my contract that's recently come to an end. Apple Watch never again, absolute rubbish
