Guidance for moving from iPhone 12 to 14 plus

Help, please! In the 2 years since my last upgrade I’ve forgotten what to do in the upgrade process! I know I need to have backed up my 12 but can’t remember the order of things … what comes first: removing the old phone from my iCloud account/ disabling Find my phone or swapping the sim into the new phone or returning the old phone to factory settings? I really need an idiot-proof guide, please!

Hi @AJB57.

You can Use Quick Start to transfer your data to your new phone.

Don't factory reset your old phone until you've completed the transfer.

You can put the SIM in the new phone during the setup process.

Once the transfer is fully complete you can disable Find My iPhone and complete a reset.
