I am on an iPhone 12 Pro Max using iOS 15.6.
My email settings have worked fine, allowing me to send and receive email using the Apple Mail app. A few months ago, things changed. Email still works fine when I am on WiFi but is significantly delayed, or not working at all, when on the EE mobile network. This appears to be an issue when on 3G, 4G and 5G.
I have checked my email settings with my provider (Fasthosts) and they are correct.
The iPhone settings are correct (for using mobile data for email etc).
If I refresh the mail app screen to force a download, the 'checking for mail' message shows for some minutes, then it fails to connect with the server.
I also have an Apple iCloud email account. That works on WifI and the mobile network. I can also access my email using webmail.
Any suggestions greatfully received.

Mine was the original post on this issue. I am trying this suggested fix but will give it a significant period of time to know for sure it it really works.
But I have reservations about reducing privacy to force one of EE's most basic services work properly.
After an initial interest in the issue, EE are now silent. We deserve a proper fix. Messages to them go unanswered.
I have made an official complaint to EE. If you also feel you deserve a better service, I suggest you do the same. https://ee.co.uk/contact-ee/complaint A complaint to Ofcom is the next stage.

I will continue to monitor the connection on the iPhones and let you know if we get a problem again, like a lot of solutions they can work for one person but not another, as we don't always have exactly the same setups.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks.
And as I say, I don’t mean to sound awkward.
Its just that this really isn’t fixed, for quite a lot of people (replies are, as you can see, coming in), and it’s quite clear that EE would like to mark thus as fixed without doing anything.
I have, once again, checked all my settings, forced a hard reboot, and can duplicate the issue of failing to connect the second time I attempt to get emails.

Agreed completely. Including the complaint.
And the Vodafone forums also reported this (or an issue presenting exactly the same) that Voda eventually fixed. Something to do with email security at their end.

Unfortunately the solution is not working for me either
Can we get the Green solved tick removed so EE don’t dismiss the problem, thinking it’s solved?

Exactly this is my worry, Rob. EE have jumped to say something was fixed before our responses could be made.
And I know CSayer was trying hard to help as a fellow user, but clearly, for the rest of us, this is not fixed and should not be marked as so.
I did reply to James who marked it as fixed to say it wasn’t, but unsurprisingly it has achieved nothing….

Hi Rob, I don't have control over the tick, it was EE who did that, so EE please feel free to remove the tick as it doesn't seem to be the solution for everyone

Just refreshed and it looks like the tick has been removed on my original solved post, I will still continue to monitor the working iPhones and let you know if i can see why these are working and maybe yours not, or maybe they will stop working again (but i hope not!)

Hi @ProfBranestawm and @Rob602,
I've removed the approved solution as the fix isn't working for your email setups.
Please get in touch with Technical Support for further assistance.
Thanks
James
