Buying and IPad Air 9th generation

I have been offered a brand new iPad Air 9th generation 64gb  supplied by ee for £350 from a private individual. He will supply me with EE shipping invoice. How do I make sure:

1. it’s genuinely bought from EE and not a stolen product ?

2. there is no outstanding monthly amounts to be paid whilst it’s under some sort of contract. If it under contract than the liability will still be with the existing seller ?

  1. If you had its IMEI there are sites online where you can check whether its been black-listed.
  2. There could be but the liability for them will be on the original owner (which needn't be your seller).
