Hi All, happy Monday! I was bought an apple watch series 7 for my birthday last week, when I was setting it up I was given the option to use the cellular option so i can use watch without phone being nearby. The £7 a month is showing on my bill but against a different mobile number. surely it should be the same mobile number as mine? Or am I just being dopey!

Hi, I think the information you are providing here is not correct. Apple Watch on a cellular plan works perfectly fine when the connected iPhone is powered off. Apple Watch has its own eSIM, cellular antenna and it's own phone number on the network. That other phone number is also used for billing purposes. It is up to EE to seamlessly redirect calls made to the iPhone's primary number onto the watch if the iPhone is switched off. I am writing from experience and have also tested this before writing this post.
I also have a problem of my own in regard to this iPhone-Apple Watch pairing.
I've got two iPhone-Apple Watch pairs in my household. On pair1 the seamless switching on EE's part happens correctly. When the phone is off and someone calls me - the watch picks up the connection and I can make calls from the watch as well. All is good.
On pair2 however the numbers have somehow separated. When the phone is off the watch logs onto EE's network, shows the 4G connection, can make phone calls, BUT... when someone tries to call the phone's number the call is immediately redirected to voice mail. The watch can be successfully called, but only if its called on its number that should only be used for billing purposes. The redirection behind the scenes doesn't happen correctly
I have also noticed that when on the watch I go into Settings>Apple ID>Apple Watch...
It shows the Model, Version, Serial Number etc... but on the watch from incorrectly working pair2 there is also the Watch's phone number, the 'for billing purposes' phone number. So if anyone has come across a similar scenario and can assist - I'd love to hear from you.
Have a great day!
