Answerphone issue

My wife has an iPhone 16 with EE and a Mac Watch 10.
If people telephone her, she can answer and speak to them on both devices. If I call her from our landline, again she can answer and speak to me.
But if I call her from my iPhone 13 Pro, also on EE, I get a recorded message saying they will see if the person is available and then after a pause it says the person is not available (and she is!)
 
What’s going on, and advice gratefully received ?

Thanks for visiting the EE Community

It sounds like the call screening setting is treating your number as an unknown number when you call, is there no indication at all on your wife's phone? If on the receiving phone you turn off call screening in Settings> Apps> Phone> Screen unknown callers and set to never. Then try a call, does your call go through? 

Presumably do not disturb is not active when you are trying to call and have you checked to make sure your number has not been mistakenly blocked? 

You might want to try deleting the saved contact on the phone and then creating a new one with your number to see if that fixes it.
