Hello.
I have just upgraded my plan and moved on to the All Rounder iPhone sim only plan today.
When I was looking at the plan on the website it mentioned that it comes with unlimited data for your watch.
I was wondering how long do you need to leave it (after going onto one of these eligible plans that gives you unlimited watch data) before setting up the mobile data plan in the Apple Watch app.
I just didn't want to set it up too early if the system needs time to pick up that I am on an eligible plan, and therefore won't charge me the £7 per month cost it usually is when not on an eligible sim only plan.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

It should work, there's no minimum time required to take this out as far as I'm aware.
The only issues people have had is account eligibility to be able to add it, you should be good to go.
Discount usually applied within 24-48 hours.

When I go into the Watch app it shows this, so not sure if the system has picked up that I am on an eligible plan ?
And I didn't want to continue in case it charges me £7 per month.

Thanks very much for the help. I'll have a go at adding it now and report back with how it goes.

Unfortunately it didn't go through. Looks like I will need to give 150 a call tomorrow.
This is what is shown when I get to the point where you select buy:

Ah yeah, it's possible they need to activate it manually by linking the eSIM registration to the EID of the watch.
Hopefully you can get sorted.

I thought about trying to do it again, as earlier I had not installed the latest iOS and Watch OS updates (18.4 and 11.4) and it seems to have went through this time. Not sure if the software updates had any bearing on it going through this time or if it was a coincidence.

Just switched the Apple Watch on this morning, and the watch now connects to the EE network, so the plan is definitely working now 🙂
The only thing now when I log into My EE, in the Choose a device drop down menu part is I have the number associated with my iPhone, the number associated with my Apple Watch, but also three other ones which are all called Paired Watch Sim 1m £7 Unknown Device.
I'm assuming this is from the few tries I did to try and get the Watch Mobile Data plan activated, but I am surprised as the plan did not active and gave me the 012 error code and asked me to call 150.
I may call customer service and have them remove the three other ones called Unknown Device in case it stops me getting the one associated with my Apple Watch for free.

Hi @Fatboy71
Thanks for coming back to us with an update.
I would definitely recommend calling 150 to speak with our customer service team, I would hate for you to be charged for 3 extra lines that are not necessary.
They will be able to check on the account and make sure everything is correct for you.
Thanks
Ritu

Thanks @Ritu_D
I gave 150 a call earlier and they sorted out everything and they removed all but the two items on my plan (sim only All Rounder iPhone and the Apple Watch data plan associated with my Apple Watch).
They could not understand how the three Apple Watch data plans had been added on when the Watch app through up an error when trying to buy it/add it.
The lady who dealt with my call confirmed that the Apple Watch data plan that is now left in place would be free as per the offer that comes with the All Rounder plan and not £7 per month.
Thanks everyone for the help 🙂
