I have two android tablets and a galaxy S22, none of which have sims installed which sometime after the start of the year refused to connect to the internet. All usual things have been tried including a restart from the exchange end. I can get them to access the internet if I tether them to my mobile via bluetooth when the mobile is connected to the network ,so there can be nothing inherently wrong.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @simon885
The two tablets and S22 should connect to your home WIFI, irrespective of having a SIM card installed.
On your S22 can you check the WIFI is switched on?
If you go to settings > Connections > WIFI > there should be a list called 'available networks'. Do you see your home broadband WIFI signal in the list?

Who provides the underlying broadband connection when you are unable to connect to the internet over WiFi?
Do other devices connected to the same router, have similar issues?

Hi Bristolian
The provider is EE full fibre, since October last year.
I have a hard wired connected Win11 PC ( this one) Galaxy A7lite connects via wifi
My S20 Galaxy connects to WIFI automatically when in range.
My HP Probook accesses using wifi. So does my LG TV
They are all working normally.
The 2 tablets and the S22 that don't connect do not have sim cards, but the A7 and the S20 do.

Hi Ali
Yes, all the devices that will not work are connecting to the router via wifi ok, and show as being connected in the hub manager app when I run it on my PC. The problem is that they will not then connect to the internet.

@simon885
Are the A7 and S20 definitely working through the WIFI?
As they have SIM cards in them, can you test by taking the SIM from S20 and pop it into the S22 to see if it then connects to through the WIFI?
It shouldn't have any effect on the WIFI throughput at all, but there is no harm in testing it just in case!
One other thing to try is make sure your time/date settings on the 2 tablets and the S22 are set to automatic.

Hello again Ali
Yes both the A7 and S20 are working through wifi ok and so is my wifes amazon fire tablet(which has no sim). Incidently if I tether the non working tablets to the S20 when it is using wifi I can then access the internet with them using the blue tooth tether

Further to the earlier posts Ali, everything is suddenly back to normal. I've been on the phone to EE on/off for several hours between 4 and 7-30 tonight. They weren't working at 4pm but they suddenly connected just after I cleared the call to EE. They don't admit to doing anything, so it could just have been a glitch in the system. All I can say is that I did nothing this end after 4pm. Thanks for the help
