Warranty

If I am on contract is my phone under warranty? I dropped it in water 3 weeks ago for no more than 2 seconds switched it off immediately but it isn't working. Put it in a bag of rice as advised by EE by unfortunately I don't have insurance and my house insurance excess is too high to make it worthwhile claiming. Shouldn't a new phone have some kind of warranty? And aren't the newer phones at least waterproof ?

Hi @Karenb1,

Sorry, that model doesn't come with a water resistance certification.

New phones are under warranty against manufacturing defects but not for accidents. You need insurance for that like any other product.

But aren't new phones at least guaranteed to be waterproof to some extent?

OK thanks just a shame that I now have to pay for a phone for another 18 months that I can't use 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
