Unable to set up Samsung Galaxy A9+

I have just received my Samsung Galaxy A9+ but I cannot set it it. 

I get as far as selecting my WIFI and putting the password in but then I get a message saying connected without internet and I cannot get any further to set anything up.

Am I doing something wrong?

Im frustrated and thinking of sending it back

Assuming your phone is connected to an otherwise working router, with a correct password, it usually self-resolves after a minute or so.

If not, you may need to start checking other devices connected to the same router, for comparison.

Everything else I have is connected to the router, Ive switched it off and on again, forgot the network and started again but nothing works
