Re: New phone box looks like it's been run over!

I just received my Sony Xperia 1 IV (upgrade) and the box was loose in a plastic delivery bag (dpd), all the corners of the phone box were dented as well as the edges have some sharp looking dents as well ... the seals on the box were warped but unbroken, so much for careing about a £1300 phone (its way over priced)

the phone seems perfect (so far) but only 54% battery out of the box seems a bit odd (75% is normal ?)

and off topic .... it wont charge at all with my highspeed huawei usb c cable and charger from my p30 pro ... thanks sony !

Hi @crunchy

I'm sorry to hear this has happened.

Please get in touch with our customer care team on 150, and they can feed back this back to the delivery company and discuss your options with you.

Does the phone charge with another charger?

Thanks.

Leanne.

yes it does charge with other my other cables but slowly.

the supercharge huawei cable (upto 50 watts) still works fine with my p30 pro and any other device i charge with it .... so its pretty obvious sony has a hardware or software block on huawei or other fast charge cables and i guess anything thats not sony "certified"

add to this the sony file transfer kept throwing an error when i wanted to transfer my apps from my p30 pro, in the end i just reinstalled them manually.

and the sony system update will only work via wifi not cellular data ... seeing as my phone is my internet access, i cant update (going to my friends today to update on their wifi)
