Possible hot pixel?

Hi, so last night I noticed when I took a photo of my daughter it had this pinky red light on it, didn't think anything of it but it's very noticeable in dark photos and mainly on the 2x zoom but can be seen on the 1x and once or twice on the 3x zoom.

I noticed it before I updated my phone to the latest update (Samsung S23 Ultra) when I have the camera open and it's a dark background you can see the off colour pixel, it's on my camera/sensor rather than the screen as its only appearing when I use the camera.

Is this something that can be repaired or even a replacement? I'm on a 2 year contract and just over a year into it.

I've uploaded some photos to show what it looks like, it's only small but I do take photos when it's dark out so it's quite an annoying issue.

Thanks.

The first photo was taken with portraot mode so a bit shaky hence why it looks like 2 dots and the second photo is using the normal photo mode and it's just a small dot, but noticeable in dark photos.

ETA: you need to click on the second photo to see it as its only the right hand side of the photo that doesn't show on the preview thumbnail on this post.

Hi @PaintOfCoat

Thanks for coming to the community.

I see what you mean in the pictures. While it isn't much, that would annoy me and I'd be drawn to it on every photo.

Are you aware of anything that could have happened to the phone that could have caused this?

It is worth giving our tech guides a call, and they can run through some diagnostics with you to see if they can help, and if not, discuss the repair options.

If is found to be a fault that is covered by the warranty, you'd be entitled to a free repair under the warranty.

@Michael_D hi, it's only seems to be on darker photos where it's noticeable, but still very annoying.

I can't think of anything that has caused this, I've not used the camera towards any bright lights or anything lile that and the phone has always been in a case and well looked after. It just appeared randomly one night.

I'll give them a call, thankyou!
