I bought a pixel 8 last year and trying to set up an esim for holidays. But keep getting error message when scanning QR code. It's says scan QR code from EE too, but phone is unlocked and bought the esim from elsewhere.

We've seen people with this issue before but I don't remember anyone ever working out why this is happening. (E.g. this one.)
Other fixes have included scanning the QR code from the Camera app, or entering the eSIM details in manually. Can you try that?
