Phone not connecting via calls or data randomly

S2024

Seeing as its impossible to reach a real person via the phone line. I'm hoping someone can help me here.

I had a Google Pixel 7 and people said they struggled to hear me or it would cut out their end or I'd sound like a robot when calling. So, thinking it was the phone I upgraded early to the Pixel 8. Same thing has been happening but on top of that my mobile signal will randomly cut out with an ! symbol or go to Emergency Calls Only, even in built up areas, and my internet will just stop working. It will show as 4G or 5G but won't connect. Again even in central London this happens. Sometimes it even appears with an exclamation mark and I then have to restart my phone to be able to get internet connection back. I decided that maybe it was the sim and got a new sim. All these issues are still occurring.

This is now preventing me from doing my job by not connecting to GPS apps and causing me to not be able to make phone calls.

Any help would be appreciated. Though I'm tempted to move providers to see if that fixes it.

Hello @S2024 ,

Welcome to the community,

Have you tried putting in someone else’s SIM card in your phone to see if that makes a difference? Someone on the same network, as this could rule out it may be your SIM card that is faulty and would need replacing.. Also, could you try putting your SIM card in someone else’s phone to see if it still works as it should, although not sure that should make a difference, as you have upgraded to a new phone?

Have you been able to compare your service with other EE users in the same location? A 2way SIM-swap would be the next step.
