Galaxy Watch - Removing EE Plan without a Phone

Hi All,

I've just upgraded my watch to an Apple Watch Series 9 from a Galaxy Watch 4, which was on a 2 year plan with EE.

I no longer use a Samsung, nor do I have access to it, and I'm unable to download the wearables app on my Apple phone because it doesn't support iPhones.

I reset the watch, but I'm worried the plan will still be attached to it. How do I ensure that the mobile plan is no longer associated with this watch, but with my Apple Series 9 - and did a factory reset remove the plan?

Thanks for letting me know @Gswan96

As you upgraded your watch contract to an Apple watch, the plan should be now be attached to the Apple watch.

I want to make sure that you get some clarity though, so I'd recommend giving one of our guides a call on 150 from your EE phone and they can check to see if it's linked.

Hi @Gswan96

Welcome to the EE Community.

Did you cancel your plan or just upgrade it?

If you have moved over to Apple Watch and the Samsung Watch contract is no longer active it will not work.

When resetting the watch did you get the option to remove mobile plan?

Katie 🙂

Hi Katie,

I upgraded my watch.

It did come up, but then kept saying connect bluetooth and try again, even though it was connected to my iPhone by bluetooth, so I couldn’t remove the plan.

Thanks for getting back to me @Gswan96

Is there any way you could access your Samsung watch?

Katie

Hi @Katie_B

Unfortunately not, as nobody has a Samsung device, we are all on iPhones.

Hi @CHRI

It's still appearing on my account as the Galaxy Watch; I'm wondering if this is because I'm yet to switch on the Apple watch as it's being delivered today.

The start date on the contract says August 2024 now though, rather than December 2024 so I know that side has been updated, it's just showing the Galaxy Watch as still being connected.

I'll have another look at it once it's been delivered and if the plan is still showing on my account as "Galaxy Watch" I'll give 150 a call and speak to one of the team. I'll update back here once I've got an answer 🙂

Just to update - now the watch is Active, it's not showing the Galaxy Watch any longer 😊

I would then assume that the Watch has removed the plan associated.

Hey again @Gswan96 😊😊

Have you managed to get the data service up and running on your iPhone now?

Provided this is working, and you fully reset the Galaxy Watch, then it will definitely no longer be active on there.
It's only possible to have a plan active on one SIM at any given time, and with eSIMs this is exactly the same too.

Peter

Hi @Peter_W

Yes the Apple Watch is all up and running and the Galaxy Watch has been factory reset.

Thank you!
