Contactless Payment - intermittently not working

I've had a Motorola G14 for about a month and set up Google Wallet for contactless payment.  It worked fine for a while, but every week or so (in between working OK) it gives an error:   "Your phone does not meet security requirements.  You can't pay contactless with this device. It may be rooted or running uncertified software".

 

Restarting it does not help, but it will then work OK again the next day (for a few days).    Any ideas ???

Have you Tried Clearing the app cache and data from Google Wallet and Play Store?

I have the exact same problem on my Motorola g854. Worked fine one day, and many weeks before that . Then suddenly stopped working about a week ago. Absolutely fed up. 

 

Yes. I've tried everything including contacting the bank and GPay.
