My Android phone suddenly refuses to connect with our home wi-fi, citing an "Authentification problem" - any advice on haw to overcome this, please?
(I have tried 'Forget ' wi-fi network, also flicked Aeroplane mode on/off and done fone re-starts - no good)

Mine very occasionally does the same, but settles within 30seconds. If yours is not doing this, it suggests a password issue of some kind. Does your router have any whitelist/blacklist facility that you've made any changes to?
Changing the password, enabling a guest network and/or alternate wireless band, are other troubleshooting steps I would try.

Thanks - since first posting, I have tried turning the router off/on, in hopes that the fone/router would refresh and 'recognise' each other but NO, though fone 'failure message' has now changed to "IP configuration failure" !
(I should perhaps say that another, identical mobi in the family is picking up the Wi-fi nomally, no issues !)

Hi @mmatthej1
Thanks for coming here.
What model phone are you using?
Can you connect to any other WiFi network?
Leanne.

It's a Redmi, model R1 or R4, I think - I took it into the EE store this morning and they were immediately able to connect to their wifi !

Err, VPN (what's that ?); virus software, no, not on the fone itself.

Thanks @mmatthej1
Are you able to try and remove the WiFi network from your saved WiFi connections in the phone and try connecting to the home network again?
If the phone connects to other WiFi networks this may be the router.
Leanne.

I have used the 'Forget' option, to remove our home network from the fone - then, later, I have re-instated the network but it does no good, unfortunately.
(Incidentally, I've just tried connecting the fone to my daughters wifi, at her house - straight on, no problems ! Grrr )

I have foned 150 twice, no option to speak to a 'real person' - just a message back from EE, which doesn't allow me any access to technical help.
