Screen is locked on my new Samsung A36 despite putting puk codes in as told to

Does anybody have any suggestions to help me with my new Samsung phone?The screen has locked completely, can't get in despite entering two different puk codes as advised by EE . This is so frustrating as thought I was getting on well with it!
