The nights are drawing in, but as you pack away the barbecue and crank up the central heating, there's no reason to feel glum. STV Player has you covered with a selection of snow-stopping Winter Watches to keep you entertained right through to spring and beyond.

The Party: Starring Luke Evans and Tom Cullen
One of the most hotly-anticipated TV dramas of the year, The Party is adapted from Elizabeth Day's bestselling novel and follows a working-class journalist whose toxic, decades-long bond with a wealthy politician unravels during a lavish birthday celebration.

Prisoners' Wives
This BAFTA-nominated British drama series following four women whose partners are serving time in prison manages to be both gritty and warm, and paints a fascinating picture of female resilience. Look out for an appearance by Bridgerton star Phoebe Dyenvor, currently taking Hollywood by storm.

Spooks: Starring Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes
An era-defining series from the noughties, Spooks follows the high-stakes missions, counter-terrorism operations, and personal lives of secret agents working in Section D of MI5. All ten series have just landed on STV Player - the perfect opportunity to relive every gripping moment or dive in for the first time.

The Blame: Starring Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth
STV Player's most popular drama of 2026 so far, The Blame follows two detectives investigating the murder of a teenage figure skater. As they probe the tragic case, they uncover deep-seated institutional misogyny and police corruption within their own station.

Colin and Justin's Sub-Zero Reno
Remember Colin and Justin, the Scottish interior design duo who were never off our screens in the noughties? Well, they're back... and they've got an almighty challenge ahead of them. This addictive reality series follows the husbands as they attempt to transform a dilapidated lakeside cabin into an upmarket tourist retreat, all while they battle blizzards and freezing temperatures.

McLeod's Daughters
If you're a fan of strong, female-led ensemble casts, McLeod's Daughters could be the perfect winter watch for you. Widely considered to be one of the most popular Australian dramas of all time, the series follows two estranged half-sisters who reunite to run their family's cattle station after their father's death. A revival of the series was recently announced and is set to launch down under in 2027.

STV Player comes pre-installed on supported EE devices. Just head to the Apps section or use search to find STV Player and open the app to start watching.

After launching the STV Player app, you just need to create a free STV account (or log into your existing account) then all the Winter Watches will be yours to stream.

I think the promoted  Winter Watches include some content that is currently is not available to those located outside of the STV Broadcast License Region. Examples are  the recent The Party and  The Blame  which I believe  ITV X have the rights to in their ITV Broadcast Licence Region.
