To celebrate the Olympic games, all EE TV customers (with discovery+ basic) are getting a free upgrade to discovery+ standard.
You'll have access to the upgraded content (via discovery+ app and channels) so you can watch every moment of the Olympics, which kicks off on July 26th.
Who will get it
The upgrade will be free to all our discovery+ basic customers. The free upgrade runs between 22nd July to August 12th.
After August 12th access to the content will no longer be available, including any recordings made from the Eurosport channels.
What if I already have discovery + Premium?
For our Sport, Big Sport, Sport on Copper and Full Works customers (or customers who take our TNT Sports add on) who already have access to the Olympic coverage via their Premium subscription, you’ll see 7 extra Eurosport channels in the TV guide.
What will I get?
This means that ready for the opening ceremony, all eligible customers will have access to:
We have thousands of customers who haven't activated their discovery+ subscription. To make sure you don't miss out, please click here to activate your subscription.

If you can't play anything from the Olympics, it's worth checking to make sure you can play any content from discovery+ at all. If it's all failing, then you either haven't activated, or you're not using the account it's activated on. Check https://auth.discoveryplus.com/gb/my-account and confirm that it definitely shows you have a current pass.

Cheers Darren.
No problem watching other D+ content, so it’s definitely activated.
The app/website is showing the account is managed and billed through EE, so something isn’t quite right.

Mines is the same. It's activated only sports content seems to be restricted and I'm seeing this message

@Modonnell14 @SwannyD2 @Weerab2024 thanks for letting us know. I'm working with discovery+ to understand the cause of this and to get it fixed for you. If you're comfortable, can you privately message me the email address associated to the discovery+ account please and I can share this with them to aid their investigation. Thanks!

Hi Lucy, thanks for investigating!
I’ll send it over now by PM.

I was planning to watch most of the coverage via the linear channels on the EE Apple TV, but after seeing the difference between that and Discovery+ stream, it’ll be great to have the option of that too.
Was at a friends place earlier (he takes Big Sport) and flipping between both (unicast Apple TV EE app stream v Apple TV Discovery+ stream), there’s a noticeably sharper picture.
It’s definitely not 4K, so perhaps they’re using a higher bitrate or codec (maybe HDR?), but definitely worth checking out the app once it’s been fixed.

@Modonnell14 @SwannyD2 @Weerab2024 thanks again for sharing your details! discovery+ have just informed me that they have now resolved this issue 😁. Can you please check your discovery+ app again for me please? As you should now be able to see the content and no longer see this error.

I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else. I have activated discovery+ both as an EE mobile add-on and as a BT broadband customer. Seems okay on a mobile device but not the television
