YouTube introduce ‘Parent code’

Sharing in case it is useful 🙂

YouTube have introduced a new feature which enables a parent (who has an account), to set up a ‘Parental code’ to prevent kids from watching YouTube signed out or accessing accounts meant for older members of the household.

More info here: Add a parent code to YouTube

I have checked my YouTube app on the EE TV Box Pro and this functionality is available now, just load the YouTube app and…

  1. Choose your adult profile (assuming you have more than one)
  2. Select ‘Settings’ from the left hand menu
  3. Select ‘Parent code’ and follow the instructions

Just don’t tell your kids I told you how to do it…😁

If you have more than one adult profile, does it propagate to all of them?

And presumably anyone else in the property with an adult profile also needs to set this?

I do not have any additional adult profiles available to test I’m afraid.
