Trying to record any C5 programme from the guide screen results in a message "Unable to recored this programme please try later" Yes I have tried resetting the box and no difference. been like it for a few days

That solved it - thanks. bit of a pain having to log back into the various apps but at least the recordings weren't lost. I notice the "look what we've got" video that runs while scanning channels etc still reflects the old (and much better IMHO) my TV, guide screens

When you've mentioned doing a reset on your Box, have you tried the steps specifically listed at the bottom here for 'Doing a full reset but keeping your recordings, series links and reminders'?
I'm not experiencing this issue myself when giving it a test, but another user reported similar issues recently and recommended that this helped resolve things.
