Unable to log in to EE app

As of a couple of days ago I cannot log in to the phone app. No amount of password resetting etc works - it now insists on my getting a verification code by SMS, and when I leave the app to find the code and return to the app I get "an error has occurred" and can go no further. It also sends a code by email, but having entered that via the website it then insists on sending another one via SMS. This is not accepted by the website. I can find no way out of this loop. I've deleted the app and reinstalled.

The next time you receive an SMS, swipe down from the top left corner of your screen and it'll show all your notifications.  The SMS will be there - tap the little down arrow to the right corner of each notification to read it without leaving the app you're in.

The other thing to try is rebooting your phone.  The behaviour you're describing should only happen if the device is running out of memory, and so is having to unload the background app.

EE app, or EE TV app? (this is the EE TV discussion board)

What device are you using?  iPhone? Android?

Rather than leave the app, you should be able to view the code from the system notification that pops down from the top of the screen.

EE TV, I thought there was only the one app, and Android. There is no drop down notification for SMS messages - never has been over 6 phones and three different hardware types!  Thanks anyway, I will continue to poke at this when I have time!

When you receive SMS messages on mobile phones, a notification appears at the top of the screen - this allows you to read it without leaving the app you're in.  This is available on all SMS capable devices that support the EE TV app.

Are you able to confirm the device you're using, and how you're leaving the app to read the SMS?

Sorry, no. Over two HTC and four Samsung devices since 2010 this has not been the case! The *only* way to read an SMS while using another app is to quit the app you are using and go to the SMS app. However, in all other cases the app one is leaving will save state and allow you to continue when you come back. In the EE TV app it throws an error message and the session is lost.

Interesting: that is very different behaviour to all phones I have had, and Samsung support has never heard of it! However, I *have* managed to get the app to maintain state while I grab the code, so it looks like it's working. Tankks!
