Tv box pro

I’m thinking of signing up to the £10 a month deal, but you only get the edge box with this. Could I buy a TV box pro from eBay and then use that as my main box? Would it work properly or is the specific box connected to my account somehow, so any other box wouldn’t work??

The TV Box Pro has never been made available for sale - only loaned as part of an EE TV contract. Officially, those TV boxes you're seeing for sale could be classed as stolen goods and may have their functionality reduced or blocked in future. 

In practice, nothing will currently happen - they will work fine.

So it's just simply a case of calling customer services to request that the Edge box is un-paired from your subscription (if it has been paired at all) and the Pro box is paired-up instead?

Not even that - just plug it in and turn it on.  It'll tell you that you're using too many boxes, and will offer to move your subscription to this box. Job done.

So will I not be able to use the edge box on another tv?

You'll only be able to use one at a time, unless you pay for a multiroom subscription. It'll prompt you to move the subscription to the current box every time you use it.
