Too Many Boxes

Hi,

Can somebody please help.  I am getting the error message that we have too many TV boxes connected to our broadband.  We only have 1 x Pro Box and 1 x Mini Box. Just moved over from BT to EE.  It has worked fine since installation in the first week of September, and now comes up with this error. (BTP-16500, IPC6007).

I cannot play Freeview channels like ITV or BBC, let alone the TV package I am paying for?

Any thoughts.

Thanks,

Angus

Thanks @Midnight_Voice

I requested a mini Box after it didn't arrive with the first shipment. I did query the 2nd pro box but the agent said it was OK  to use.

I can use both boxes simultaneously once the messages are dealt with.

I was planning to get onto 150 but was hoping for a DIY solution if there was one.

Thanks

Yes, the fix is needed at EETV’s end 😢

I think I’m in the same boat, but I have been moving from BT without Multiroom to EETV with, so I’ll need to check again if it’s set up; but if not, it’s 150 for me also.

I’m having the same annoying issue. I had to have my box pro replaced as it was faulty. I have a new box pro and one mini which used to work fine. Since the new pro box was installed my mini won’t play tv upstairs.

it did before and I’ve never had to pay for multi room. I was told it was free. What’s happened to change this other than having to have a new box?

@Sketchlisa

If you have two boxes, a Pro and a Mini, then EETV have to give you free Multiroom for them to work.

I might conjecture that when the Box Pro was replaced, it went out without the corresponding Mini (naturally) and this caused your Multiroom to be erroneously removed by EETV.

Except that the lack of Multiroom is no actual barrier to using two boxes, you just have to keep swapping which is the principal box.

But you are saying the Mini won’t play (at all?). So what happens when you try to use it? What error message do you get? Does the issue only happen when the Box Pro is doing something where it has to stay the principal box?*

*Fellow experts, is that even a thing?
