Over the last month we are having to constantly reboot the TV box as ITV and ITV iplayer keeps having a speech lag. This can be either watching through the app, or direct from the TV. We have out TV box connected to the wifi. I have rebooted the wifi router as well. Its only ITV. Any ideas?

Hey there, @Ciborg23.
If possible, can you please try your TV box with a wired connection to see if the same issue occurs?
This can help us identify if it's the WiFi connection that's at fault, or something else.
It's also worth trying a factory reset on your box, and there is an option where you can do this whilst keeping your recordings.
You can find the instructions for this on our help page here.

We have Ethernet from Hub to a plugged in adapter, then from another plugged in adapter ethernet to TV box, then HDMI to the TV. It only happens on ITV.

Cheers @Ciborg23.
Have you given the reset I recommended a try, and do you have any additional speakers plugged in, or are you just using the TV's built in ones?

I'll give the reset a go tomorrow, bit busy being NYE. We have a Sofa with speakers, but they're connected to the tele. All other channels and apps are fine.
Cheers

To avoid doubt, can you clarify this please..
The subject line of this thread, and the first post both refer to "ITV & ITV Iplayer". There's no such thing as ITV I-Player, so you're either referring to the BBC iPlayer app, or ITV-X, which is ITV's streaming app.
If the BBC iPlayer app is affected, then the internet connection/WiFi could well be at least part of the issue. If your issue is only with ITV-X, and the BBC iPlayer is unaffected, then that all points at an app issue.

Finally I've reset the box, will see how it performs now. We noticed issues last night as well on BBC2. I've rebooted the WiFi router as well

Its ITV X, and the other night BBC2 normal.
I've reset the box to factory settings and its doing it on ITV now as I type. So its turn to box off and on again and it sorts it.

@Ciborg23
Thanks for giving the Factory Reset a try.
Are you able to try using a cable directly between Hub and Box, without using adapter?
Or if possible test while being connected through WIFI (be sure to disconnect the Ethernet) if the signal reaches?
It's just to test if your plugged in adapter could be affecting the connection at all.
Thanks

We've tried all sorts now. Just switched the tv on and box, turned channel to TNT Sports to watch tennis and the speech is about 10 seconds out, absolutely ridiculous. We've tried with wifi instead of hard wire. We can't run a direct cable from the router as its other side of the room, and a chimney breast in the way. We now regret swapping our equipment over from BT last as we never had any issues with that. When our contract expires Aug 2027, we're off to Sky.
